On moving to the Meadow Class (KS2 or Juniors), the children begin to learn more independently, through discussion, challenge and exploration of topics. They begin to take on whole-school responsibilities, holding positions on the School Council and organising playground equipment, as well as carrying out day-to-day jobs to ensure the smooth running of their classroom. Individual, paired and group work helps the children to share ideas to move their learning forward.
Towards the end of their time in the Meadow Class, Year 6 children are supported through the transition process as they move to their next school. Also, every two years, children have the opportunity to attend a residential learning programme which enables them to develop personal and teamwork skills away from the classroom.
